outreach: blessing of the feet

This community outreach event is held each January on the Friday before the Houston Marathon.  We host a pasta dinner for runners and walkers in the community getting "carbo loaded" and hydrated for their Sunday run.  We have individual runners, running clubs, and supporters with an average attendance of 150.  There are great door prizes donated by the community, and a local runner who provides an inspirational speech.   One of the pastors closes with a "Blessing of the Feet", praying for the safety and good health of runners and their 500,000 supporters.  Blessing of the Feet allows local runners to find out about the church.
