CLPC’s staff and Shalom Ministries have settled into their new offices.
March 20, 2002
Shalom Ministries left their original offices upstairs in the Church Life Center on March 7 and moved to the Zeta Building at 1020 Bay Area Blvd., suite 224. Most of the church staff then moved into the former Shalom Ministries suite in Room L-206.
Michelle Vass is now in the reception area of the former Shalom Ministries office. Staff members Jack Haberer, Craig Goodwin, Barb Robertson, Ann Wallin, Lori Webster and Jeannie Stone have offices in L-206. Nancy Goodwin will work from home but will be on maternity leave soon.
Jo Tyson can be found in the former Shalom workroom, Room L-205. The “Frontliners,” volunteers who answer the phone, have moved to the upstairs landing in the Church Life Center.
Dana Park’s office has moved to the music library in Room L-104, just outside of Reg Brown’s office. Grace Tice will share office space with Reg. Katrina Pennington will be a little harder to find in an office inside the church kitchen in the Church Life Center. Leanne Leslie and Barrie Swartwout share office space in room L107.
Barb Robertson said that all telephones have been rewired and extensions are all the same as before the move. The staff members’ e-mail addresses remain the same, but the staff will be off-line temporarily some time within the next two weeks when the network server is moved.
Staff and elders’mailboxes are all in Room L-205, Robertson said.
Over at Shalom, office administrator Cathy Shook said, “We are unpacked, settled in and ready to go.” Shook said their new space in a two-story brown brick building across from the Tequila Willie’s restaurant is really quiet and tucked back at the end of the hallway.
The new Shalom Ministries office has a larger waiting area than the previous location, and the receptionist’s desk is not out front. It is more relaxing, like a doctor’s office waiting room, Shook said.
Shalom Ministries staff spent last week unpacking and beginning to see clients. The telephone number, (281) 286-8018, remains the same.
The Shalom office does not yet have Internet access, because Southwestern Bell has not installed DSL there. For now, Shalom Ministries will pick up regular mail at the church a couple of times a week.
Shalom Ministries has an eight-month lease with Hartman Management Company, which generously provided the space at a greatly reduced rent, Cathy said.
Shalom’s board of directors and Shalom Ministers will dedicate their offices to the Lord on Palm Sunday at 5:00 PM.
The church staff will hold an open house to invite the congregation and guests to visit their offices on Easter Sunday morning, following each service.
