Update April 3, 2002
This week, building-wise, the mold news is about the same. The wheels
of insurance and remediation are slowly turning. However, our response
as staff and congregation is maturing and finding avenues of ministry
not fully realized previously. I've taken to calling the staff and
project members "Mold Busters", but that's me.
God is still in charge and we are learning how to function and minister
in the face of change. So many of Christians around the world face this
fact squarely every day that it is almost embarrassing to admit this is
something new for us.
What's happening?
Ministries continue to strive for a "100% Care Rate" through our worship
community, fellowship and caring. We continually search for innovative
ways to serve everyone's needs. This community helped put a man on the
moon. Doubling and sometimes tripling up in room utilization is small
potatoes compared to that.
Most churches grow beyond home base and build a central congregational
structure. We are simply returning to our roots. Sometimes it takes
seeing members in their native setting (easy chair, baby toys, or bad
carpet choice) to get to know them better.
Remember when Joshua was told to march around Jericho to conquer the
city? It seemed pretty far-fetched, but results came from doing things
differently.
Change and innovation are the gatekeepers of this project. With God
all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

Addendum: On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 9th, there will be a major
meeting with the insurance adjuster, after which time we will have a
good deal more information.
