Welcome Reverend Steve Oglesbee
CLPC’s Pastor/Head of Staff

Steve grew up in western Pennsylvania and Indiana. His father is a Presbyterian pastor and his mother a church musician (both now retired). Steve attended college at Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Music (Voice) and an Outside Field in Spanish. Steve met Kendra in college; they have been married for 20 years.

Following college Steve served for three years as a full time campus staff member with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship working at the campuses of Indiana University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He then attended Princeton Theological Seminary, graduating in 1992. He received his first call as an Associate Pastor in Western Colorado. Seven years later God led the Oglesbees back to Indiana where Steve served the last eight and a half years as Pastor/Head of Staff of the Center Grove Presbyterian Church (CGPC) in Greenwood. He is currently enrolled in the doctor of ministry program at Fuller Theological Seminary.

God has led CGPC during Steve’s pastorate to the singular purpose of being a church where “Strangers become friends, friends become disciples, and disciples change the world”. They are a congregation committed to local and global mission work, small groups, children’s ministry, and are planning for a community drama/theatre ministry. CGPC worships together in a variety of styles, and has doubled in membership and worship attendance since Steve’s arrival.

Steve is a visionary, a team builder and a collaborator whose theological roots are in the Reformed tradition and whose commitment and passion is introducing every person possible to a fully empowered relationship with Jesus Christ. He desires to serve a congregation that has an unswerving devotion to the Lordship of Jesus that places a premium on relationship building.

Please give a warm welcome to Pastor Steve, Kendra, Alena, and Luke into our CLPC family. Pastor Steve's first Sunday will be Easter.
