Update on Visioning Team Retreat

The Visioning Task Force wants to thank all of you for your prayers during our first meeting/retreat Sunday and Monday last week.  Dr. Peter Pizor facilitated multiple sessions where he engaged and coached the task force through intriguing vision-development discussions.  He used team-building games and well tested business strategy mapping tools to lead us through a time of group discernment for the future direction of CLPC.  In the process of the discussions we reflected on our Mission Statement and CLPC Core Values developed last year as they apply to our “Ministry CODE”, i.e., Caring, Outreach, Devotion and Equipping.  In addition, we reviewed the results of the most recent census demographics to better understand the present and developing needs and resources in our community.  This information will be used to as input to development of a vision of church life at CLPC in 2007.

By now you have hopefully heard about and possibly completed the on-line survey (if not, go to: http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?L1AJE613XF5870T4G7B8QVV7).  These survey results are critical in each stage of the visioning process for many reasons.  Your feedback will be used to understand, test and validate all aspects of our church life together that each CLPC member values so much.  At the same time, we will be conducting several community focus group exchanges so we can better understand what might draw non-CLPC members to join us.

Peter will return over the weekend of September 14th to lead us through the next stage in our vision development and planning for the future of CLPC.  We will continue to explore our theology and the programs that provide for the current and future needs of our community and congregation.  We have sincerely sought and felt God’s guidance in these discussions.  We look forward to our follow-up sessions.  In the meantime, we will appreciate the entire congregation’s ongoing prayers in this time of discernment.

If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact any of the task force members.  We will continue to communicate progress and, most importantly, engage the congregation in conversation for input over vision development period.

Yours In Christ,

Visioning Task Force
